2- Nature at Point Lobos
Nearby Point Lobos Natural Reserve is one of the richest underwater habitats in the world. The park is sometimes referred to as the crown jewel of the California State Park System. Point Lobos is home to whales, dolphins, seals, sea turtles, and sea otters.
3- Art and Architecture
Fairytale cottages dot the landscape in Carmel-by-the-Sea. Many of these quaint homes and inns were built by architect Hugh Comstock in the 1920s and feature steep roofs, arched doorways and windows, and rock chimneys. They add the most whimsical feeling to the town. Artists, photographers, writers, and fans of architecture are drawn from all over the world for inspiration.
